• Cigarette butts - 10-12 yrs

• Leather shoes - 20-40yrs

• Orange peels - up to 6 months

• Paper Containers - 2-5 months

ATM Receipts

- consumers use 8 billion ATM Receipts every year. If everyone took action and did not take a receipt, that would save enough paper to wrap the earth around the equator 15 times.

Drinking Cups

- it is good idea to use one cup a day to conserve on wash water, this is a very simple task and very effect to the environment. 

Recycle Clothing

- it can take leather up to 50 years in a landfill to decompose. Also remember their is also great bargains at second hand stores. I have found many name brand items with tags still on them for one tenth the price of retail.

- household cleaners have many toxins that account for early development of asthma in children. It is a great idea to use products without toxins, clean DOESN'T smell and most household cleaners smell due to toxins. Great products to use are Meyers and Second Nature.

Plastic Bags and Paper Bags

Plastic bags take over 1000 years to decompose. Paper bags use an estimate 14 million trees every year.

Bottled Water

It takes 5 liters of water to produce 1 liter of water for plastic bottles.
